The entry date into Egypt, 15 May, and actual route, has been confirmed based on GPS coordinates of overnite locations received on 24 May (thru 22 May) and 29 June (thru the 26th of June).
I called and spoke with both Scott & Renee at the CAIRO PYRAMIDS MÖVENPICK on Thursday May 20th (~ 6PM Cario time) where they were staying and taking a break from camping. Both sounded recovered, upbeat, and ready to resume "The Adventure". Still unsure about overland travel thru Sudan, even after all the trouble they went to in getting Sudanese Visas, and I'm doing some more searching for alternate Sea Transport options from Egypt ports to either Massawa, Eritrea, Djibouti, Djibouti, or Mombasa, Kenya. By thier Red Sea coast position reported for the 21st, it looks like they may be checking in with the ports on the way South as well. Received a positive reply from "Worms Alexandria Cargo Services" agents for the Messina Line - offering Container Service Fm/To AFRICA & MED PORTS - forwarded this to Scott.

24 May - Received a note from Scott today that they were in Aswan, had met up with a Swiss group also traveling overland thru Sudan and were to leave via barge on Lake Nasser from Aswan, Egypt to Wadi Haffa, Sudan "in the morning".
