A good drive. Arrived in Windhoek around 2 and went into town to phone
Yvonne. She came to meet us and escorted us to her home. The boys, Miles,
David and Jason all call me Uncle Scott, except Miles who says Uncle Sprocket
(box) which is new to me. Anyway, we will have a few days rest.

Had a really good time in Windhoek. Watched TV, ate well, did updates, got washing done and slept well. Only problem is allergy again – bloody animals. I played with the boys a bit and showed Miles how to get onto the internet, Yvonne is going to curse that one day. Had to buy another air filter, it’s the seventh since starting. But OK. There you go.
On the 15th we headed South to Uncle David’s farm. A nice drive back in the desert. The roads are great, sand but not too bad in fact, quite good. We stopped at Solitaire which has changed a lot since our last visit, now there is a café and camp ground.
The farm is good fun. We arrived at about 3:30 and had a small drive
around getting the goats in. Saw one in the final stages of giving birth.
Wow, never seen that before. Tomorrow we will do some more exploring. Around
now it’s time for another good nights sleep. Cheers.

Had a good nights sleep. I think it got windy during the night but seems not too bad this morning. Some of the baby goats died during the night.
We went for a drive with Uncle David to Springbok camp. We found a great campsite for new years Eve. Maybe we can do it. Must speak to Robin and co. Saw a few springbok and two bat eared foxes. This afternoon Renee went to town (100km away) with Uncle David and I had an extra long siesta. I had picked up sore throat and a sniff so dosed myself up. At about 3 I went with Aunty Joy to look at the North end of the farm and take some pictures. Quite nice, we will have to come back again.
Changed the fuel filter this morning. Still got one left. Seems we left
the smoke behind a while ago. The dirt roads in Namibia are really great
– can be slippery though. So tomorrow South Africa, a bit nervous about
customs but lets see.
